Frenk Mendez

Frenk  â€‹is from a neighborhood in Santo Domingo called San Isidro. He’s loved dancing ever since he was just four years old-- people would always play music in his neighborhood and he couldn’t help but dance along! He started out dancing dembow, and when he was 12 he started being invited to various dembow events and competitions, as people realized his potential. An older cousin of his, fellow MM collaborator Swagguer, was living in Las Terrenas and invited Frenk to go live with him and hone his dembow skills. Frenk is very grateful for the year that they spent practicing and filming dance videos together. He then went to live with another cousin, Swagguer’s older brother Farifeo, who also coached him in his dancing. Farifeo helped Frenk train in various dance styles including bachata and dembow.

Frenk has been working with MetaMovements during the past two years, thanks to his cousins Farifeo and Swagguer who introduced him to Anara and the MetaMovements team!

Frenk is excited to be embarking on such a beautiful career path and looks forward to collaborating with his community in the arts, and his dream is to one day open a dance school for children where he offers free dance classes.
