Sharon Funk

Sharon Funk began ballroom dancing in college and was a 19-dance competitor up through the open levels in all 4 styles (Champ Smooth, Champ Rhythm, Champ Standard, and Pre-Champ Latin).  As captain of her college ballroom team, and then coach to many competitors and teams after college, Sharon enjoyed working with competitors and performers for most of her dance career, because they have the most passion for learning and improving their technique.
After 12 years of intense training in Ballroom DanceSport, Sharon branched out to Salsa/Bachata, Zouk/Kizomba, West Coast Swing, and Lindy Hop for fun.  She danced on the Alma Boston bachata teams, New England JT Swing team, and co-coached the Black Mamba salsa and bachata teams.
Sharon now enjoys teaching wedding couples prepare for their first dance, bringing her knowledge of functional technique partnered with her passion for truly great lead/follow connection to help her students really get the feel and fun that comes with good dancing right from the very beginning.  Sharon believes that even choreographed partner dances should be lead/followed, and instills the importance of that connection in all her students.
