José & Jordani Dorvil

AKA “Los Mellos”

José & Jordani were born in Haiti and came to the Dominican Republic when they were just 2 years old. They have loved music and movement for as long as they can remember and the first dance they started practicing was a Haitian dance called Raboday at the age of 3. Soon after that, they started Dembow and then Afrobeat and Acrobatics, and they would perform in the streets with other kids in the area where they lived.

At the age of 15, they started learning to dance Bachata, and soon they were able to leave their other jobs to focus fully on dancing-- working in festivals, restaurants, bars, and other locations, and winning competitions.

They have become well-known for their high-energy dance moves, their caring for their students, and the joy they bring to everything they do. They are both proud fathers, and they absolutely love working with children and sharing their passion for dance with the next generation. Their current goals are to keep working, keep training, and get ready to travel the world-- teaching, performing, and bringing their incredible energy to every place they go!
